"Prospettica" is regarded as one of Gio Ponti's most modern and innovative creations. Conceptualized in 1925, it takes inspiration from classical antiquity and the rules of perspective in rendering an optical illusion with each cell of the pattern containing the depiction of a smaller vase to create an impression of relief, depth and originality. The double-cut technique is used to decorate the piece by hand in order to maintain the same depth in the framing of the cells.
